About Us

AMI is an innovator and industry leader with over 27 years of aviation experience in aviation component overhaul and manufacturing, with a focus on tubular components, ducts, and manifolds, thin wall welding and precision machining. AMI was founded in 1996 as a “sister company” to Aerospace Welding, Minneapolis, an FAA certified repair station, that has since become the world’s largest repair station for piston and turboprop aircraft exhausts and engine mounts. AWI has become the world’s largest repair station for piston and turboprop aircraft exhausts and engine mounts. Our combined operations are in Eagan, MN, only 10 minutes from the MSP Int’l Airport, providing convenience for customers and a central location for attracting quality employees. With several A&P Mechanics, Aerospace Engineers and Pilot’s on staff, our Leadership Team has a passion for Aircraft Maintenance. With many years of experience in supporting the jet engine industry we understand the harsh environment in which these components are operated in.

AMI is a FAA 145 Repair Station and PMA Manufacture, certified to work on a variety of aviation metals, including Stainless Steel, Inconel., Aluminum, Titanium, and Chromoly. Many of these metals are thin-walled tubes that require highly experienced welders and craftsmen to build these products within the tight aerospace tolerances of the aviation industry. Built on a strong reputation for quality and customer service, AMI is the largest exhaust and engine mount shop in the world.

AMI specializes in welded tubular components, Ducts, Manifolds, Sheet Metal components and Sub-assemblies, and many other components that support our growing aviation industry.

We are a well-capitalized innovative “midsize company”, which allows us to respond quickly while working closely with our valued customers. Our combined companies are FAA 145, FAA PMA, AS9100D, ISO 9001:2015 and Nadcap for welding certified. AMI hold ‘s over 400 PMA’s and have several licensing agreements with key customers.

AMI has invested in modern-day equipment including 3D printing, 5 axis machining, state of the art software and a very experienced staff of Aerospace employees to support our valued customers. This includes an experienced NPI Team, a full Engineering staff, FAA DER, and DMIR staff as well as several A&P Mechanics. This allows AMI to provide RAPID response times, control quality, cost, and reduce lead times, making us a true partner to our customers.
